Jolly Rogers Fishing Report, June 11
The fishing is pretty good out of Port Renfrew right now. We are regularly catching medium sized halibut. The salmon fishing has slowed a bit from May, but is still pretty decent -- we are finding a few nice fish every trip. The crabbing is amazing, always a treat on the way in at the end of the day to see a full trap.
We have posted another youtube video of Jolly Rogers Fishing Adventures for 2008: "A Day in the Life: Port Renfrew and Swiftsure Bank Fishing." This video shows a "typical" JR day spent salmon and halibut fishing off Vancouver Island's wild west coast. The day starts at 6 am, salmon in the morning, halibut in the afternoon, back at the dock at 4 pm....a fantastic day. With a job like this, who needs vacations?
