Map of Vancouver Island

Vancouver Island has a population of approximately 800,000 and stretches from the southwestern corner of British Columbia Canada 450 km to the northwest. The rugged west coast is cut deeply with inlets stretching inland between high mountains. Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, is the largest city on the island. For those who enjoy sightseeing, Victoria has plenty to see and do. Travel to Vancouver Island is convenient as there are hourly car and passenger ferries from the cities of Vancouver, Bellingham, and Port Angeles (near Seattle). Also, scheduled flights arrive at the Victoria International Airport on major airlines.

Port Renfrew is a quaint town nestled on the shores of Port San Juan, at the west entrance to the Strait of Juan De Fuca. 100 km of road separate Port Renfrew from the city of Victoria, allowing the town to retain a friendly west coast feel.

Referred to as Canada's south pacific, Vancouver Island has a temperate climate making it an ideal year round fishing destination.

We are still marveling at our fantastic fishing experience with you. That Coho that Vi caught was some of the best fish eating I've experienced. The filet mignon of fish.
