General Charter Information

Full day charters to Swiftsure Bank may last from 8 to 10 hours depending on fishing and sea conditions. All fishing gear, bait and safety equipment is included. If a fishing trip is modified or canceled due to unsafe sea conditions a refund or price reduction will be made.

We can arrange to vacuum pack or can your fish and have it shipped to your home

Don't forget you'll need a recreational fishing licence.

June to September (Halibut and Chinook at Swiftsure Bank)
When it comes to fishing, the gem of Vancouver Island is the Swiftsure Bank near Port Renfrew. The summer season promises abundant catches of large Chinook Salmon up to 60 pounds and plenty of Halibut. Typically, during this season our boat leaves the marina at 6:00am and we travel for approximately one hour up the coast enjoying such sights as the rugged coastline and the Carmanah lighthouse, often seeing whales on the way. Upon arrival at "The Bank" the fun begins as anglers enjoy the diversity of this bountiful offshore hotspot. Normally half of the day is spent targeting Halibut and bottom fish and the other half reeling in Chinook and Coho Salmon, with limit catches in all species common. Arriving back at the dock mid to late afternoon J.R. will clean and bag your catch and wish a farewell until next time!

September to mid-November (Coho Salmon at Port Renfrew)
For anglers who want to experience unrivaled Coho fishing, Port Renfrew boasts incredible light tackle non stop fun with catches of Northern Coho Salmon of 10 to 25 pounds! People who enjoy fly fishing will be able to experience the ultimate thrill of hooking into these feisty chrome beauties with bucktail flies trolled on the surface. Half day charters are available as these fish congregate near the harbour mouth making it a short boat ride to the fishing grounds.

November to May (Chinook Salmon at Victoria)
Chinook Salmon feed all winter in the waters around Victoria offering wonderful opportunities for fishing enthusiasts who also want to enjoy the sights of this beautiful city. J.R. will take you to local hot spots while you enjoy the comforts of the Heated cabin and experience red hot Salmon fishing at its best.
